You need to be gifted to be a captain. Not anyone can be an inspiring figure, a talisman, a fighter and a brilliant footballer, all at once. You need to be special to lead and follow at the same time, to attack and defend, to trust and be trusted. You have to be able to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, to understand, support and never give up. Being a captain is a lot more than just an armband.
